Welcome to Stanley Halls!

Stanley Halls is a Grade II listed Edwardian arts venue in South Norwood, very close to Norwood Junction station. A fascinating complex of unique Edwardian buildings built in 1904-11, the Halls comprise an art gallery, theatre hall and assembly rooms.

This stunning building is a great home for Jivebeat on a Wednesday evening.

Next Event

28 Feb - LeRoc and Argentine Tango

All our classes start with the fundamentals then expand on that with something more challenging.

  • 8.00pm - LeRoc Modern Jive class
  • 8.45pm - A short break and practice time
  • 9.00pm - Argentine Tango class
  • 10.00pm - Practice, freestyle, and 1:1 help if you need it through to 11pm.

The Class

Welcome to Jivebeat!

Beginners and experienced dancers alike are always welcome at Jivebeat. We start every class - whether LeRoc or Tango - with the fundamentals to get you going, then add in something for those of you who want something more challenging. This might include a more complicated step sequence or a greater emphasis on styling and musicality, but whatever it is the emphasis is on having fun whilst you learn. There is no pressure to "get it right" at Jivebeat, so you can learn at your own pace and try things out as and when you are ready.

The doors open at 7.45pm, and the evening runs until 11pm. See the individual class schedule for details.

Getting There
