Full Hurst Green Diary

Welcome to Hurst Green Village Hall!

Tucked in beside the railway line, this friendly and welcoming venue often surprises first time visitors with how good a place it is for dancing. It has a slightly-sprung wooden floor, a high arched ceiling, a stage, and there is a hatch leading from the main hall into the kitchen where we serve refreshments and occasional snacks.

So if you are looking for a new Modern Jive or Argentine Tango venue on Thursday nights with an excellent floor, great music, and easy parking, then look no further!

The Class

Welcome to Jivebeat!

Beginners and experienced dancers alike are always welcome at Jivebeat. We start every class - whether LeRoc or Tango - with the fundamentals to get you going, then add in something for those of you who want something more challenging. This might include a more complicated step sequence or a greater emphasis on styling and musicality, but whatever it is the emphasis is on having fun whilst you learn. There is no pressure to "get it right" at Jivebeat, so you can learn at your own pace and try things out as and when you are ready.

The doors open at 7.45pm, and the evening runs until 11pm. See the individual class schedule for details.

Getting There

Address: 4 Oak Close Hurst Green Oxted RH8 0BA

Hurst Green near Oxted is only about 20 mins by car from Redhill, and less than 15 mins from Biggin Hill, Edenbridge, Westerham, Godstone... and if you are coming by train it's about 2 mins walk from Hurst Green station.

The hall is directly behind the shops at the western end of Pollards Oak Road, and it has its own car park.

There is plenty of free parking in the adjacent car park, and if that should happen to fill up then you can park in the road or in the car park the other side of the shops.

We will be serving soft drinks, teas, and coffees from the kitchen hatch.

Venue Rules

No chalk or talc is to be used on the floor under any circumstances.
